Who We Are

ABOUT TRUSS ENERGY

Truss Energy is a data center powered land development company at the forefront of the AI infrastructure revolution. We originate, evaluate, and develop premium sites for the next generation of AI and enterprise compute workloads - connecting exceptional land with the world's most demanding operators.

Our focus includes distributed inference data centers for enterprise computing loads - the growing category of mid-scale AI infrastructure that demands speed, redundancy, and proximity to end users. These purpose-built facilities serve enterprise AI workloads that cannot tolerate centralized latency and require sovereign, on-premises compute.

In parallel, Truss is actively targeting development on 30+ operating solar projects across the United States, each featuring integrated grid connectivity, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and natural gas generation backup - purpose-sized for the 10-25 MW capacity range that serves distributed enterprise and co-location demand.

Backed by 60+ years of combined team experience across energy development, utility coordination, and capital markets, Truss brings full-stack capability to every site - from land origination and permitting through utility interconnection and hyperscaler placement.

Truss Energy's sister company, Hodson Development, is an experienced solar and BESS developer having permitted over 300 MW of solar projects across the United States and raised over $55 million from institutional investors - bringing proven development execution, deep capital market relationships, and a track record of delivering complex energy infrastructure at scale.

PROJECT EXPERIENCE

Our leadership team brings a proven history of originating, developing, and financing large-scale energy infrastructure across the United States and internationally.

01 Data Center Site - Greensville County, VA

Otterdam - 600 MW Hyperscale Data Center Campus

Otterdam is a late-stage hyperscale data center site in Greensville County, Virginia, strategically positioned within the county's Technology Overlay District. The 773-acre site offers 600 MW of phased grid capacity (300 MW by 2030, 300 MW by 2034) via dual 230 kV and 115 kV transmission lines, supplemented by 150 MW of natural gas generation through TC Energy's pipeline infrastructure. Fiber access is provided by Mid-Atlantic Broadband, Uniti, and Lumen. The Special Use Permit was approved by the Board of Supervisors in December 2025, and the interconnection application for 600 MW has been submitted to Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative.

Electra DC - 600 MW Gas + Grid Campus

Electra DC is a 540-acre data center site in Laramie County, Wyoming, designed around a dual-source power model combining 300 MW of natural gas generation (online Q4 2027) with 300–500 MW of grid power via Tristate's 345 kV transmission line located 1.2 miles from the site. The Tallgrass Trailblazer and Rockies Express gas pipelines are approximately 4 miles away, providing robust and redundant fuel supply. The site benefits from Wyoming's favorable regulatory environment - the adjacent Switchgrass Industrial Park (Project Jade by Crusoe Energy) established the precedent for PUD rezoning, supporting Electra DC's permitting path.

Community Engagement

BUILT WITH COMMUNITIES,
NOT JUST ON THEM

Truss Energy believes that transformative infrastructure must deliver tangible benefits to the communities where it is built. We engage early, listen deeply, and structure every project to create lasting local value - not just megawatts.

🤝

Early Stakeholder Engagement

We initiate community dialogue before shovels hit the ground. Truss meets with local officials, landowners, environmental advocates, and residents to understand concerns, answer questions, and incorporate feedback into project design - months before permits are filed.

💼

Local Jobs & Workforce Development

Data center development and operations create significant local employment. We partner with regional workforce agencies, community colleges, and trade unions to prioritize local hiring during construction and ongoing operations, building pathways to high-quality technical jobs.

🏘️

Municipal & Tax Base Benefits

Large-scale data center projects generate substantial property tax revenue for schools, infrastructure, and public services. Truss works transparently with county assessors and local governments to structure agreements that maximize community fiscal benefit over the long term.

🌿

Environmental Stewardship

We go beyond compliance. Truss evaluates environmental impact comprehensively - including water stewardship, habitat buffers, stormwater management, and noise mitigation - and partners with local environmental organizations to ensure responsible land use practices.

Grid Reliability & Local Energy Access

New substations and transmission upgrades built for data center projects benefit the broader local grid. We work with utilities to ensure that infrastructure investments improve reliability and capacity for surrounding communities, not just for our sites.

📣

Transparent Communication

We maintain open lines of communication throughout the development lifecycle. Community meetings, project updates, and dedicated local contacts ensure that neighbors are never left in the dark about what is being built next door and what it means for them.

OUR COMMUNITY PLEDGE

Every Truss Energy site development is guided by a set of commitments we make to the communities that host our projects. These are not aspirational talking points - they are operational requirements embedded in how we develop.
